FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

No jargon, no spin, here's how we actually work, what we can and can't do, and how you stay in control. Still unsure about something? Just ask.

Are you a mutual fund adviser or a distributor?

We're an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor (ARN-285860, held by Ankur Parikh), not a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser or Portfolio Manager. We help you understand your options and choose funds suited to your goal, but we don't give investment advice for a fee or manage your money. Every decision stays yours.

How do you get paid, do I pay you a fee?

You don't pay us a separate fee. We earn commission (trail or brokerage) from the Asset Management Companies whose schemes you invest in through us. Because of that, we distribute regular plans of mutual funds, and we tell you this openly so your choice is an informed one.

What's the difference between a regular plan and a direct plan?

A regular plan includes a distributor commission and comes with our assistance. A direct plan of the same scheme has a lower expense ratio, but you research, transact and manage it entirely yourself, without a distributor. We think you should know both exist and choose with your eyes open.

Do you promise or predict returns?

No, and honestly, no one can. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks, and past performance does not indicate future results. Any figures in our education content are illustrative only, used to explain a concept. Investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you put in.

Do you hold or manage my money?

No. We never take custody of your money or trade on your behalf. You invest directly with the Asset Management Company through regulated platforms and registrars. We are a distributor, not a custodian, and not a portfolio manager.

Can you help me review the mutual funds I already own?

Yes, as education. We can help you understand how your existing funds have done against a relevant benchmark over a fair period, and whether they still suit your goal. What you do with that understanding is entirely your decision.

What do I need to start investing?

Mutual fund investing in India requires KYC, including your PAN. KYC and transactions are handled through the AMC or registrar’s regulated process, not through this website. Please do not send account numbers, passwords, PAN or KYC documents here; we will point you to the secure process.

How is this different from the Trade Vectors technology company?

Mutual fund distribution is a separate activity carried out by Ankur Parikh under his personal AMFI registration (ARN-285860). The technology business at tradevectors.com provides software and consulting. The two are deliberately kept separate.
